About The Event
Developed by David Zambrano, the Flying-Low technique examines the dancer's relationship with the floor. Through playing with speed and the release of energy, we will spiral, run, and slide to exploit momentum and use gravity! We will explore connectivity between the centre and peripheries to find the most efficient movement patterns to go in and out of the floor. Interconnecting with everyone and the room is the key to transforming the room into infinite pathways.
The class begins by introducing the basic principles of gathering and sending to connect with the whole room and participants. We will practice sequences of set material with different pathways by running and passing through each other. Peer work will facilitate collaboration and analysis, and the class will be much fun!
